Less is more
Waste is one of the most visible footprints an event leaves behind, but also one of the most avoidable. That is why Flanders Convention Bureau encourages organisers and venues to design with circularity in mind, preventing waste at the source, choosing reusable solutions, and treating leftover streams as resources rather than rest.
The Flemish congress and events sector is increasingly tackling waste before it is even created. Single-use is being phased out, reusables are becoming the norm, and what cannot be avoided is carefully sorted, measured and given a second life.
