Waste is weighed per stream so the campus and its start-ups see and reduce their own footprint.
On the Wintercircus Campus, where more than thirty start-ups are based, the different waste streams are weighed separately. Each fraction is measured on its own, and the results are shared back with the individual start-ups, so every team can see what its own activities contribute to the total. The figures are logged over time and broken down per stream, building up a continuous record of how much waste is generated, where, and in which form.
Sustainability added value: This measurement turns waste from an invisible cost into a manageable variable. Start-ups that see their own numbers can set realistic reduction targets, compare results month by month, and check whether concrete changes, in packaging, ordering, or sorting, actually pay off. At campus level, the same data exposes the heaviest fractions and guides investment in collection infrastructure and prevention where it has the largest effect, instead of spreading effort thinly across streams that hardly matter.
