Less Waste, Thoughtfully Organised

Food waste is actively reduced through choices in preparation, presentation and follow-up: no classic buffets but food stands with controlled portions, volumes matched to actual attendance, surpluses recovered wherever possible, and organisers welcome to take leftovers home. On the material side, reusable tableware is the default, single-use items are kept to a minimum, and biodegradable alternatives step in only where disposables are unavoidable.

This approach is part of BluePoint Antwerpen’s broader sustainability strategy, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Sustainability added value: The most sustainable meal is the one that gets eaten, and the most sustainable plate is the one that gets washed and used again. By tackling food and single-use materials at the source, BluePoint Antwerpen turns waste reduction into a structural feature of every event rather than a good intention.
