Motion sensors

The BMCC uses motion and occupancy sensors throughout the building to automatically control lighting, ventilation and climate systems based on actual room usage. When a space is unoccupied, systems switch off or revert to low-energy mode — ensuring comfort is maintained precisely where and when it is needed, without unnecessary energy use elsewhere.

Sustainability added value: Smart sensor control eliminates one of the most common sources of energy waste in event venues: systems running in empty rooms. As an integrated part of the BMCC’s nearly energy-neutral building design — alongside LED lighting, heat pumps and solar panels — it ensures that energy efficiency is not dependent on human behaviour, but built into how the building operates by default.
