Responsible Alcohol Use Policy

The BMCC actively promotes responsible alcohol consumption at events and receptions. Its four in-house caterers are encouraged to offer a wide range of high-quality non-alcoholic alternatives.

The venue has installed a ‘FlineBox’ in its entrance area — an interactive electronic alcohol tester that allows visitors to check their blood alcohol level with a single breath test and receive personalised guidance on making safe, informed choices.

Sustainability added value: Responsible consumption is a social sustainability issue with direct public safety consequences. By combining a thoughtful catering policy with an accessible, engaging prevention tool, the BMCC helps create a safer event environment for all — contributing to broader city-wide efforts in Bruges to reduce drink-driving, and supporting several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals around health, wellbeing and responsible consumption.
