A sustainability and procurement charter sets out, in writing, the principles that guide how a venue operates and how it selects its suppliers. It typically covers commitments around energy and water use, waste reduction, social and ethical standards, and the responsible sourcing of goods and services, from catering and cleaning to technical equipment and event materials. Suppliers and partners are asked to align with the same principles, so that the values defined inside the building also extend to the wider supply chain that supports its day-to-day activities.
Sustainability added value: A charter directly shapes what enters the building and what leaves it as waste. It steers purchasing toward products with lower CO₂ footprints, less packaging, fair labour conditions and local origin, while excluding suppliers who fall short on those criteria. The result is concrete: lower emissions linked to procurement, less single-use material on site, more spending flowing to ethical and regional partners, and a measurable reduction of the venue’s overall environmental and social footprint.
