Barrier-free building

The BMCC is designed to be entirely free of physical thresholds and barriers. Step-free access routes connect the train station to the venue and continue throughout the building itself.

At every staircase, tactile warning surfaces help visitors with visual impairments identify where stairs begin and end, while handrails provide additional guidance and safety throughout.

Sustainability added value: Barrier-free design is most effective when it forms an unbroken chain — from public transport to the front door and through every space inside.

By ensuring step-free access and tactile navigation across the full visitor journey, the BMCC guarantees that independent, confident movement through the venue is a reality for every attendee, not just an aspiration.
