Circular Thinking, From Cradle to Cradle

Recovered veneer, demountable booths and reused steel and furniture make Wintercircus circular.

At Wintercircus, the interior is built around a circular approach. The veneer of the tables comes from Bulo and from recovered demolition material. The phone booths by Juunoo are fully demountable and built up in a circular way, so they can be taken apart and reassembled without losing material value. In addition, second-hand furniture is used throughout the venue, and the small tables on the central square are made from former steel sheets that were previously produced for other clients of the supplier. For the realisation of this whole, Wintercircus works closely together with architectural office Oyo.

Sustainability added value: By systematically choosing recovered, demountable, and second-hand materials instead of newly produced ones, Wintercircus avoids the resource extraction, energy use, and CO₂ emissions linked to fresh production. Demountable elements like the Juunoo booths keep their value at the end of their first use and can be reconfigured rather than discarded.
