At the entrance, attendees are asked a few quick questions to map their mode of transport and home postcode — the latter allowing for a straightforward calculation of travel distance. This enabled the organiser to measure the total CO₂ impact of participant travel to and from the event. The survey and data processing are carried out in collaboration with partners Ecofest and MyImpactTool.
Sustainability added value: Measuring the carbon impact of attendee travel is a crucial step towards meaningful emissions reduction. By collecting travel data at the entrance with the support of specialist partners, the organiser gains a reliable, evidence-based picture of the event’s transport footprint — creating the foundation for targeted improvements and transparent reporting at future editions.
